Acid capacity, also known as KS4.3, alkalinity-M, total alkalinity, or hydrogen carbonate acid, refers to the concentration of hydrogen carbonate ions (HCO3-) dissolved in water. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the pH balance, directly affecting the performance of disinfectants and water treatment products. However, if not properly managed, high acid capacity can result in material damage, such as corrosion.
The Alka-M photometer tablet is designed for use with photometers and spectrophotometers to measure acid capacity. Simply add the tablet to a water sample, crush it using the stirring rod, wait for the color change, and then analyze the sample using your measuring device for accurate results.
